Day 1:
Start your day early and head to the Chembra Peak. It is the highest peak in Wayanad and offers a beautiful view of the valley below. You can trek to the top of the peak, which takes around 3-4 hours, depending on your fitness level. You will need to get a permit from the forest office before you start the trek.
After completing the trek, head to the Soochipara Waterfalls. This waterfall is located amidst lush green forests and is a great place to relax and unwind. You can swim in the pool at the bottom of the waterfall, but be careful as the water can be deep.
Have lunch at a local restaurant and try some authentic Kerala cuisine, such as appam and stew, fish curry, or Malabar biryani.
In the afternoon, visit the Pookode Lake, which is a natural freshwater lake surrounded by dense forests. You can take a boat ride on the lake, go for a nature walk, or simply sit by the lakeside and enjoy the beautiful scenery.
In the evening, visit the Banasura Sagar Dam, which is the largest earthen dam in India. You can take a boat ride on the dam reservoir or go for a trek in the nearby hills. The sunset view from the dam is also beautiful.
Day 2:
Start your day early and head to the Edakkal Caves. These are ancient rock-cut caves that are around 8,000 years old. You need to trek for around 45 minutes to reach the caves, but the view from the top is worth it.
After visiting the caves, head to the Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary. This sanctuary is home to a variety of wildlife, including elephants, tigers, leopards, and deer. You can take a jeep safari or a trekking tour inside the sanctuary to see the wildlife up close.
Have lunch at a local restaurant and try some traditional Kerala snacks, such as banana chips, pazham pori, or vada.
In the afternoon, visit the Chethalayam Waterfalls. This waterfall is located in the middle of a dense forest and is a great place for a picnic or a nature walk.
In the evening, visit the Kuruvadweep Island. This island is situated in the middle of the Kabini river and is a great place for a boat ride or a trekking tour. The island is home to a variety of flora and fauna, including some endangered species.
